The new Sony a77ii has a new feature called “Lock-On AF Expand Flexible Spot” which allows the camera to lock onto a moving subject that you have focused on. It is very intuitive, simply focus on something and leave your finger halfway depressed and the camera will “hang on” to the subject even as it moves around the frame, waiting for you to release the shutter. This is a new engineering development that greatly speeds up focusing and exposure – even when other elements cross in front of the lens or the subject.is severly backlit.
